Modulo One releases new single with Kant Kino, Substaat, Subsquare
Norwegian dark electro band Modulo One releases their new dark electro single "No Way to Win" 1 September. The single includes remixes from Kant Kino, Substaat and Subsquare. "I'm so happy with the remixes on this one!", producer and front man Anders says. "Oftentimes, remixes sound quite similar to the original, maybe with a different baseline or some extra synths. These remixers really went out of their way to make something completely new and unique. Subsquare even added a rap!"
Having ditched albums, Modulo One instead releases singles every second month. The next one up is "Redemption" 1 November, which will include a Faderhead remix.
Why did you decide to release singles instead of albums?
- "These days we believe people mostly consume music on streaming services like Spotify, on podcasts etc. Listening to an entire album from start to finish is not that common anymore. By periodically releasing singles instead of being silent for three years and then dropping an album, fans get a steady stream of new music. It's also much more fun for us to release music when it's done and we're still excited about it, rather than keeping it in the drawer for years. Oh, and no need/excuses to make album fillers! Every song has to be worth it on its own."
What's next from you?
- We'll have a new single "Redemption" out 1 November, with a banger of a remix from Faderhead. Kant Kino is hard at work both on a new single and an EP, and Substaat have several projects coming up. Also check out their recently released version of "Captivate"!

Our favourite scene mag, Side-Line Magazine, just published a great review our debut EP, Ten Thousand Meters of Desert!
They give it a 7/10 and say:
This EP is made to dance and the big kicks are more than a simple invitation to move. (...) It’s impossible to say if Modulo One will be the Norwegian next big thing, but I think we better can keep an eye on it.
If you haven't heard the EP yet, give it a listen now! Links to Spotify, SoundCloud, iTunes etc here.

Norwegian futurepop duo Modulo One releases their debut EP, Ten Thousand Meters of Desert, 26 March 2018 ( Cover photo). Hailing from Oslo, Norway, Modulo One consists of producer and vocalist Anders Schau Knatten and keyboardist Tom André Solli.
Knatten started writing a few tracks as Modulo One in 2013, but the project got more serious in 2016 when he recruited long term friend and DJ collaborator Tom André Solli. The same year they also remixed Substaat’s “Elusive”, a remix which Darksynthradio named one of the best tracks of 2016.
In 2017 they played their first concert, remixed Bitbear’s “Raise the Dead”, and recorded their debut EP Ten Thousand Meters of Desert, released 26 March 2018. The EP consists of three original tracks, as well as four remixes, and is available on all digital platforms through their own label Synthetic North. All tracks are written, produced and performed by Anders Schau Knatten, except remixes by the respective artists. The EP was mastered by Sebastian Komor of Xenomorph Productions.
Later this year another EP is planned, and a remix of Komputergirl’s “Voyager” is also scheduled for release.
